Cycling is part of the city, accessible to all, economical, eco-friendly, easy to park, and healthy... And not to mention the pleasures of riding !
Bicycle infrastructures are constantly growing in Bordeaux and its region. There are close to 1000 km of bicycle paths around the capital of Gironde, one of the largest regional networks of France.
To encourage bicycle transportation, advertising is done by the City though the Maison du Vélo (house of the bicycle), the publication of a practical guide, the monthly organization of a "no-car-day", the development of bold itineraries and the right for bicycles to ride on the bus routes.
More and more people ride their bikes in Bordeaux, to navigate the city or to travel within the suburbs.
